Mercury Retrograde 2021 (Part II): Mercury in Gemini

The traditional advice with Mercury retrograde is “Don’t travel. Don’t sign contracts. Don’t marry. Don’t touch electrics!” This is mainly because the energy of Mercury is directed inwards for introspection rather than outside for our daily routine. However, this is a great time to revisit, review, resume, and resolve anything that will arise during this period or we have currently “on the table” in front of us.

Mercury goes retrograde in Gemini on May 29th through June 22nd:

During the times that Mercury is retrograde, people often notice more challenges with correspondence, our communication as we interact with others. It can also show up in our relationship to our neighborhood, our siblings and challenges with cars, transportation or electric equipment.  This is marking the second Mercurial backspin of the year and we want to be as conscious as possible especially given that this retrograde takes place in Gemini, one of the zodiac signs ruled by Mercury itself.

It will be a time for insight and discernment, seeing from different views what you believe as true in regards to your dreams and wishes. We need to review what we think we want and desire as we may have become influenced and projected somebody else’s opinions onto what is right or not right for us. i.e make the clear distinction on what are the things that I want and what others want for/from me.

Mercury turns retrograde in between a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius and a solar eclipse in Gemini, making this a volatile period when we can expect endings, beginnings, and major turning points in our stories. Gemini being a mutable sign, there will be a need to adjust to numerous changes occurring at once, thus, flexibility will be key in order to be able to also stand our ground.

Most intense and challenging period will be for all mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Pisces, and Sagittarius marking this a time when major life events will take place which will radically reshape their life. Hold the intention for what you wish to create while remaining flexible enough to flow with unexpected changes. You may need to process some disillusioning experiences, but you will ultimately be able to reorient toward greater clarity once this transit ends.

Aries: communication, electronic equipment, studies, short trips

Taurus: money, personal goods and values, talents.

Gemini: decisions, self-actions, ambition, physical body, image.

Cancer: health, relationship with God, self-analysis, letting go of battle.

Leo: friends, future plans, aspirations, ideals.

Virgo: career, public image, reputation, social status.

Libra: beliefs, principles, relationships with foreigners, studies, long trips

Scorpio: renunciation, power, sexuality, unpaid money, loans.

Sagittarius: relationships, couple, association, marriage.

Capricorn: health, work, colleagues, daily schedule.

Aquarius: love, children, creativity, hobbies.

Pisces: house, family, dwelling, soul.

Here are some activities that is best to pay close attention to and avoid or postpone until the period ends:

• Signing important contracts (best time to change, review contracts and/or important agreements);
• Buying electronic equipment (including mobile phones or cars, etc);
• Taking any major decisions;
• Travelling (delays, accidents, losing items might happen, etc);
• Buying expensive items (you may see them on Sale after the period end);
• Communicate a new release related to information and/or data.
